On May 27, 2009, I forayed into the world of blogging.

I thought I would do it for a while, say what I had to say, and then stop.

Fast forward to June 4, 2010.  Here we are one year and 71 blog posts later, and I am still passionate about this method of sharing leadership lessons. 

I titled this blog "Leadership and..." because leadership goes with everything!  As a leader, I have learned that you get much farther with the word "and" than you do with the word "but."

Examples...

• "that might work, but..."
• "we could do that, but..."
• "Of course its a great idea, but..."

versus

Over this next year, try to lean more toward your ands and away from your buts!

For all of you who read and/or subscribe to my blog...THANK YOU!  I hope that in some way these messages add a sense of hope and a sense of meaning to what you do everyday.

I will continue to post these leadership lessons once or twice a week because I think we all still have a lot of learning to do.  We will never become the best leaders we can be - there is always room to get better.
